Lawmaker Alex Mascot Ikwechegh’s assault case against Bolt driver Stephen Abuwatseya has been adjourned to November 8, 2024, by Magistrate Abubakar Umar Sai’id of the Kuje Magistrate Court
Ikwechegh, representing Aba North and South federal constituency of Abia State, pleaded not guilty to charges of abuse of office, assault, and threat to life.
The incident went viral after a video showed Ikwechegh slapping the driver, who delivered an item to his Abuja residence. Many Nigerians condemned his actions, leading to his arrest and questioning by the police.
