The Nde Nnem Ukanwa Matrilineal family, in collaboration with the family of the late Nze Ali Mazi Agu Asaa Okoroafor, has officially announced the burial arrangements for their esteemed patriarch, who passed away at the age of 79.
The late Nze Ali Mazi Agu Asaa Okoroafor, fondly remembered as a great icon, was a beloved son, father, brother, husband, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His life and legacy will be celebrated in a series of events organized to honor his memory.

The body of the late Nze Ali Mazi Agu Asaa Okoroafor will leave Cynco Mortuary, Abiriba, and proceed to his residence at Nde Oti Compound, Amaebelu, Ameke Abiriba. A wake-keep will commence at 8:00 PM at the family compound, where friends, relatives, and well-wishers will gather to pay their last respects.

The funeral service, officiated by St. Peter’s Akahaba PCN, Abiriba Urban Parish, will be held at the Central Stadium, Omaghuzo, Ameke Abiriba, Ohafia Local Government Area, Abia State. The open-air service will provide an opportunity for the community to honor the life and contributions of the late Nze Ali Mazi Agu Asaa Okoroafor.
At 1:00 PM, the interment will take place at his residence in Nde Oti Compound, followed by a grand Abiriba cultural display to celebrate his life and heritage.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Engr. Kalu Asaa Okoroafor, Elder Dr. Chukwuma Kalu Okpan, and Mr. Asaa Agu Asaa expressed gratitude to all who have supported the family during this difficult time. They invite friends, well-wishers, and the public to join them in bidding farewell to their beloved patriarch.
The late Nze Ali Mazi Agu Asaa Okoroafor was a pillar of the community, whose influence and contributions will be remembered for generations.
