Lagos Hoodlum Kills Woman While Celebrating Election Victory

Halimat Abowaba, 27, was allegedly shot dead in Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State by a hoodlum who goes by the name Adedeji, nicknamed Skye.

According to reports, Adedeji and some other thugs were celebrating a political party’s victory on Saturday when he suddenly pulled a revolver and began shooting randomly.

Abowaba was reportedly injured by one of the stray bullets while she was standing in front of her mother’s bar on Abeokuta Street beside Agege Stadium.

In an effort to save her life, neighbors and family members reportedly rushed Abowaba to the Ifako Ijaiye Teaching Hospital after one of Adedeji’s bullets struck one of her laps, according to PUNCH.

The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital was recommended for her after hospital staff evaluated the severity of her injuries, according to Samuel.

Yet he said that Abowaba died from bleeding to death.

Samuel said, “One of the political thugs in Agege named Adedeji, aka Skye, while celebrating the victory of his party on election day, started shooting indiscriminately and one of the stray bullets hit a lady, Halimat Abowaba, in her lap.

“Adedeji was drunk when he started shooting. The incident happened around 6pm and the lady was rushed to the Ifako Ijaiye Teaching Hospital, when they got there, she was referred to the LASUTH but the lady died in the early hours of Sunday. Halimat died because she lost a lot of blood. The bullet shattered her lap.”

“Her mother runs a beer parlour. I am speaking out because in cases like this, politicians will do everything to sweep it under the carpet, especially because this is an election period. I am not sure the family reported the matter to the police.”

Samuel continued by saying that Adedeji had fled the scene of the crime after committing it and that Abowaba’s family, who had previously wished for her to receive justice, had now accepted the circumstances surrounding her passing as being God’s plan.
