Lagos Govt Seals Alade Market In Ikeja For Environmental Offences

The Lagos State government has sealed the popular Alade Market in Onigbongbo LCDA in Ikeja.

Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Jubril Gawat, made this known on his X account on Wednesday.

According to Gawat, the market was sealed due to several environmental infractions such as a lack of waste bins, a filthy environment, and the illegal burning of refuse by the roadside.

Also, indiscriminate dumping of refuse and failure to comply with the rules of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) are other reasons for the closure.

Alade Market is the latest popular market in the state to be closed down due to environmental issues.
