Labour Party Candidate Defeats House Of Reps Minority Whip In Kaura

The Labour Party candidate for Kaura’s House of Representatives seat, Mr. Mathew Donatus Kozali, won the election on Saturday in Kaduna State.

He defeated Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) incumbent Gideon Lucas Gwani, the Minority Whip of the House of Representatives.

In contrast to Gideon Lucas Gwani, who received 10,297 votes, Mr. Mathew Donatus Kozali received 10,508 votes.

Mr. Mathew Donatus Kuzai was proclaimed the victor by Professor Elija D. Ella, the returning officer, who made the declaration in the Kaura Local Government Secretariat in the southern area of Kaduna.

He clarified that Professor Benjamin Kumai Gugong of the APC received 9,919 votes, placing him third.

Gwani was attempting to take up residence in the seat a fifth time.
