Labour DAY: Hon. Aguocha Commends Workers, Calls For Better Welfare

On the occasion of the 2024 Workers’ Day celebration, the Member of the House of Representatives representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has commended Nigerian workers for their dedication, hard work, and resilience.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, Hon. Aguocha acknowledged the significant contributions of workers to the development of the country, saying “Today, we celebrate the unsung heroes of our nation, the workers who toil day and night to keep our economy running. Your dedication, perseverance, and commitment to duty are the driving force behind our progress and growth.”

He also called on the government and private sector employers to prioritize the welfare of workers, saying “As we celebrate workers today, I urge employers to recognize the value of their employees and provide them with better working conditions, improved remuneration, and social protection. Our workers deserve a living wage, decent working conditions, and access to social services.”
