Russia has attempted to discuss its security guarantees, but no one would listen, and no moves have been made to restore dialogue between Moscow and Washington since the special operation began in Ukraine, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.
“No moves to restore the dialogue have been made in the past two months,” Peskov said, when asked if dialogue between Russia and the US was possible.
Last December, the Russian Foreign Ministry published a list of proposed agreements on security guarantees Moscow had expected from Washington and NATO. In one of its proposals, Russia said NATO should stop its expansion eastwards and roll back its military infrastructure to where it was in 1997. In late January, the United States and NATO handed their written responses to Moscow, failing to make crucial concessions.
