The Lower part of Parliament of Kenya has impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on grounds of corruption, ABN TV reports.
The House voted 281 to 44 to impeach him. He will go down in Kenyan history as the first deputy president ordered to leave office.
The Speaker is to notify his Senate counterpart of the vote within two days.
