The Commissioner of Police in Katsina State, Bello Shehu, has directed the Coordinator of the School Protection Squad to activate all existing security mechanisms to enhance the safety of students and staff across schools in the state.

This directive was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Command’s Public  Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Aliyu. According to the statement, Shehu gave the order during a meeting with tactical commanders aimed at reviewing and strengthening the state’s overall security strategy.

Shehu noted that the move aligns with instructions from the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who has emphasized the need to prioritize safety around educational institutions nationwide.

To reinforce protection, the commissioner ordered the deployment of additional security resources to schools throughout Katsina State.

He also urged the public to intensify cooperation with the police by supporting crime-fighting efforts and helping to safeguard schools and surrounding communities.
