The Minister of States for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah has expressed satisfaction with the decision of Federal High Court Lagos division which ordered the release of the senator representing Abia North, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu.
The Supreme Court had last month upturned the conviction of Kalu, a former governor of Abia State on the ground that the judge who presided over the case lacks the jurisdiction, having been promoted to Appeal Court.

Reacting to Kalu’s release, Dr. Ogah the APC governorship candidate in Abia in the 2019 election said despite challenges, the judiciary has continued to uphold its role as the last hope of the oppressed in the society.
According to Ogah, the senator’s release is a plus to all Abians and Abia North in particular, the immediate Constituency of the senator, saying his role at the National Assembly in representing the people will be a reference point for years to come.
