Former Governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Kalu has felicitated with former Vice President of Nigeria, Naval Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe (rtd) on the occasion of his 80th birthday anniversary. 

ABNTV reports that describing the former Chief of General Staff, as a man of impeccable character, Kalu stressed that the celebrant has served the country meritoriously in various capacities in the private and public spheres of life.

The former Governor stressed that the likes of Ukiwe are difficult to come by in society while acknowledging the invaluable contributions of the statesman to democracy in Nigeria.

He noted that the former Vice President, has over the years, demonstrated humility, bravery, patriotism, credibility and selflessness in his pursuits, adding that the celebrant’s leadership qualities are remarkable and worthy of emulation.

The Senator while acknowledging Ukiwe’s passion for a united, indivisible and prosperous Nigeria, stressed that the former Vice President is a mentor and role model to his contemporaries and the younger generation.

In a goodwill message, Kalu extolled the virtues of the former Chief of General Staff, adding that the celebrant is a genuine leader who is committed to a just society.
