UEFA have reportedly began compiling a calendar to complete the Champions League season with Juventus’ clash against Lyon set to take place on August 8.

According to French news outlet RMC Sport, Uefa officials held a video meeting on Wednesday morning with relevant club presidents to reaffirm their desire to conclude the campaign.

In that meeting, they declared that all domestic divisions must be completed by the end of July in order for the Champions League and Europa League to be played out.

RMC then adds that Juventus’ Round of 16-second leg tie against Lyon in Turin has been pencilled in for August 8.

This match will only go ahead at this date though should it be declared safe to do so by Italian authorities.

The Old Lady goes into that match trailing 1-0 thanks to a Lucas Tousart strike in the 31st minute.

It remains to be seen how Uefa intends to complete the remaining Round of 16 matches.

Bayern Munich still have to play Chelsea, with the Germans destined to advance through to the quarter-finals after beating the Blues 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City are yet to host Real Madrid at home, after they incredibly fought back to win 2-1 at the Bernabeu.

Meanwhile Barcelona goes into their tie against Napoli with the scores level after Antoine Griezmann cancelled out Dries Mertens’ opener.

According to Get French Football News, the quarter-finals could be decided after just one match, as opposed to two legs.
