Nigeria’s D’Tigers have been ranked seventh in the quarterfinals of the recently concluded 2024 U18 Afrobasketball Championship in Pretoria.

The Nigerian side crashed out in the quarterfinal after suffering a defeat against Egypt. The organizer of the Championship released the ranking on Sunday morning and the former champions was ranked below top 5.

Ranking: 1. Mali 2. Cameroon 3. Senegal 4. Morocco; 5. Egypt; 6. Angola 7. Nigeria 8. Rwanda 9. Cote d’Ivoire 10. South Africa 11. Zambia 12. Uganda

Meanwhile, following her distinctive performance in the just concluded U18 Afrobasketball championship in Pretoria, Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigress star, Idubamo Beggi, has been named to the All-Star Team.

The organiser of the Championship announced the list of All-Star Team on Saturday evening, and Beggi featured prominently on it. Winner of the Championship Mali produced two players, Mama Sidiki Doumbia and Oummou Koumare, Cameroon and Angola have one player each, Damaris Emedie and Resty Nanagwe.
