The Abia State Governor-elect, Dr. Alex Otti and his deputy of Wednesday received their Certificates of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The development has triggered excitement in Umuahia the state capital as supporters stormed the streets to express happiness over the authentication of Otti’s victory.
The former bank chief executive won the March 18 gubernatorial poll in the state on the platform of Labour Party after defeating Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Otti polled a total of 175,466 to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the PDP who scored 88,526.
