Expressing her joy, Ukpabi Amarachukwu Princess from Amangwu Ohafia said: “This scholarship has lifted a huge burden off my family. I am truly grateful to Chief Dr. Okwun Ojah for his kindness and vision. His support gives us hope and motivates us to work harder so that one day we can also give back to society as he has done.”
Another beneficiary, Igee Udo Mercy from Elu Ohafia, added: “Words cannot fully describe my gratitude. Dr. Okwun Ojah has proven that true philanthropy is about touching lives without expecting anything in return. This scholarship will help me focus on my studies and pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer who stands for justice.”
In his goodwill remarks, HRH Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha (JP), Paramount Ruler of Ebem Ohafia and Chairman of the Ohafia Council of Traditional Rulers, described Dr. Okwun Ojah as a rare gem and pacesetter. He praised him for previous interventions, including sinking boreholes across communities, rebuilding police stations, sponsoring youth football tournaments, and supporting students in medicine and law.
“Far away in Australia, he has not forgotten his roots. He thinks not only of his immediate community but of the entire Ohafia. What he is doing is a challenge to the younger generation — to show that it is possible to remember the downtrodden without asking for anything in return. If we had ten Chief Dr. Okwun Ojahs in Ohafia, our land would be transformed,” the monarch declared.

Also speaking at the event, the Director of ABN TV and Radio, Mr. Ifeanyi Okali, thanked Dr. Okwun Ojah for his generosity. He noted that while many foundations in Nigeria use philanthropy as a political strategy, Dr. Okwun Ojah has shown the world that he is a true philanthropist whose gestures are purely humanitarian and not politically motivated.

The event was also graced by eminent dignitaries, including Chief Dr. Joseph Eke, CEO of Blue Springs Luxury Hotel (Chairman of the Occasion); Nze Uche Uche, PhD; HRM Engr. Awa Nwankwo Mba, Reagent Ezeogo Amaekpu; HRM Ezieogo Mba Odo Okereke, Akanu Ohafia; Hon. Kalu Mba Nwoke, Member, Abia State House of Assembly (Ohafia South); Prof. Arua Eke Arua; Barr. Speakers at this year’s event commended Dr. Okwun Ojah for sustaining his commitment to education across disciplines, describing him as a model philanthropist whose generosity continues to inspire hope and development in Ohafia and beyond.
