Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Andrew Aikhoumogbe says he’s optimistic Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro can surpass Gernot Rohr’s achievements with the senior national team if he utilizes the array of talents at his disposal.
Recall that the Portuguese tactician has come under heavy criticism after Nigeria’s 1-0 loss to Guinea-Bissau in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
Although the Super Eagles later managed a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture, however, some section of football enthusiasts are not too convinced with the technical ability of the Peseiro.

In a chat with Completesports.com, Aikhoumogbe opined that Peseiro can turn things around if he utilizes the array of talents at his disposal.
He also advised him to extend invitations to players based on merit and not those sitting on the bench to the Super Eagles.
“I won’t be too quick to pass judgment on Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro regardless of his poor stats with the team.
“However, I will only advise him to utilize the plenty of talents at his disposal if he must surpass the achievements of his predecessor.
“He must ensure he invites players that are actively playing for their clubs in Europe or in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).”
