A Jigawa State High Court sitting in Hadejia, on Thursday, sentenced Saidu Zakar to life imprisonment for raping an 11-year-old girl in Hadejia Local Government.
The accused person was arrested and arraigned before the Court in 2019 for allegedly luring the girl into his room and raped her.
Proving his case before the Court, the prosecution counsel presented five witnesses and tendered three exhibits.
The presiding judge, Justice Ado Yusuf said the offence was contrary to section 284(2) of the Penal Code laws of Jigawa State, 2012, as amended.
He said the prosecution counsel had proved his case beyond reasonable doubt.
He, therefore, convicted and sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment.
