Salisu Tanko-Yakassai, a Kano-based politician has slammed President Buhari for allegedly allowing his appointees to ignore the directives given to them without any consequences.
This was made known by Salisu on Twitter after the two-week directive President Buhari gave the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, to ensure the ASUU strike is called off, and terminated before Tuesday, August 2.
The strike action by the lecturers still lingers. On Monday, August 1, the lecturers extended the strike by four weeks.
Reacting to this development, Salisu tweeted
”I’ve never seen a weak president like @MBuhari. He gives directives to his appointees & they ignore them without consequences. He gave 2 weeks ultimatum for the ASUU strike to be resolved, but nobody took him seriously & the time has elapsed. Shamefully embarrassing to say the least!”
