Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu has cautioned individuals taking advantage of the prolonged detention of Leah Sharibu in Boko Haram’s den, saying such is blood money.

According to the presidential aide, such persons are flaunting the wealth, noting that he does not need it.

Shehu in a Facebook post sighted by ABN TV on Sunday said, “My message to anyone who made money using Leah Sharibu’s sad ordeal, and they are flaunting it remains unchanged: This is blood money. I don’t need any of it. Period.”

Leah was among 110 girls, aged between 11 and 19 years, who were abducted by the terrorists from Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi, on February 19, 2018.

A Christian teenage girl when she was kidnapped, she was allegedly forced to accept Islam before being married off to a top Boko Haram commander after she refused to renounce her Christian faith.
