Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, says he’s on total support of a ten-year development plan of Bende Local Government Area of the State, where he equally emphasized that it will lead to equitable growth.
The former governor while applauding members of the Bende stakeholders forum, technical working group, project manager and others for a job well done also called for its comprehensive implementation.
“I have been on the front burner, in the development of Bende LGA and Abia State as a whole right from my days as the Second democratically Elected, Executive Governor of Abia State, and a two-term Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to the lawmaker, “This document is the first of its kind in Abia State and Nigeria as a whole. The beauty of this ‘‘ Working Tool’’ is that it was prepared by the community members and captures their needs and aspirations.
“As a key player and major stakeholder in the development of Bende LGA and Abia State, I urge the Federal, State, and Local Governments and Bende Stakeholders to use this Document for Development in Bende LGA.
“I hereby endorse the plan.
“Congratulations to Ndi Bende for this huge and monumental achievement,” the former Abia State Governor said in a statement he personally signed.
He added that “the Bende ten-year development plan is a blue-print for action, a credible working document that will support and promote sustainable development and economic Prosperity for the people of Bende LGA in Abia State.
“It will also lead to establishment, of Micro, Small, and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) and also large Enterprises and their associated Value Chain in Bende LGA.”
