Iran fired a new wave of missiles at Israel on Thursday, shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump warned of massive military कार्रवाई against the Islamic republic in the coming weeks.
In an address from the White House, Trump said the military campaign—launched on February 28 by the United States and Israel—was nearing its objectives but cautioned that even heavier strikes could follow.
“We are close to completing our core military goals,” he said, adding that Iran could face devastating attacks within two to three weeks if the conflict continues.
Despite the warning, Israel’s military reported multiple missile barrages from Iran, with at least four waves detected within hours, underscoring the escalating tensions.
The conflict, which has spread across the Middle East, has already claimed high-profile casualties, including Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and several top military officials. The war has also rattled global markets and driven up oil prices.
Trump hinted at possible negotiations with Iran’s new leadership, which he described as more moderate, but warned that failure to reach an agreement could lead to further strikes targeting key infrastructure, including power facilities.
Iran, however, dismissed U.S. overtures, calling them unrealistic. Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said Tehran had received indirect messages through intermediaries but ruled out direct talks with Washington.
The situation has heightened fears across the region. Air raid sirens sounded in Tel Aviv, while countries including the United Arab Emirates reported intercepting missile and drone threats. In Lebanon, the Iran-backed group Hezbollah also launched attacks on northern Israel.
Meanwhile, global attention has turned to the Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil transit route that Iran has effectively blocked amid the conflict. World leaders are now exploring diplomatic options to reopen the passage, as disruptions have sent crude prices sharply higher.
As the war enters its fourth week, both sides remain defiant, raising concerns of a prolonged conflict with far-reaching economic and geopolitical consequences.
