Iran Executes Man Found Guilty Of Spying For Israel Amid Recent Conflict

Iranian authorities announced on Wednesday that they had executed a man convicted of spying for Israel and leaking information about a nuclear scientist killed during the recent 12-day conflict between the two nations.

According to the judiciary’s Mizan Online website, “Roozbeh Vadi… was executed following legal proceedings and the Supreme Court’s confirmation of his sentence.”

The report stated that Vadi provided sensitive information about a nuclear scientist who was assassinated during what Iran described as the “Zionist regime’s recent aggression”. His execution was carried out by hanging.

Details regarding the timing of Vadi’s arrest or sentencing were not disclosed.

Mizan reported that Vadi had been recruited online by Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, and subsequently transferred classified information.

In mid-June, Israel launched a large-scale bombing campaign against Iran — an unprecedented move that triggered a brief war. Iran retaliated with missile and drone attacks. The Israeli strikes reportedly targeted both military facilities and civilian areas, resulting in the deaths of senior military officials, nuclear scientists, and hundreds of others.

Local media reported that at least a dozen nuclear scientists were killed in the offensive.

Following the conflict, Iranian authorities vowed to swiftly prosecute individuals suspected of collaborating with Israel. Since then, several arrests and executions have been announced in connection with alleged Mossad operations.

According to human rights organizations, including Amnesty International, Iran ranks as the second-highest country in the world for executions, after China.
