Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to initiate moves to have a national discussion to end the orgy of insecurity in the country.
The Senator stated that the said meeting is expected to converge past Presidents, serving and past Governors, serving and retired security chiefs, serving and retired inspector Generals of Police, traditional rulers, and other key stakeholders to develop a workable modality to keep the country safe.
The former Abia governor who spoke on Channels TV Sunday Politics said a similar meeting produced good results during his tenure as governor, expressing that some Nigerians are taking the country for granted.

“This meeting has to go on. It’s looking like sabotage on President Buhari’s government, that everyday people are breaking up everything.
“I have told you this on your show before that the whole affairs look like sabotage, to sabotage the Nigerian institution. It’s not going to happen. Nigeria is our country and we must come together and discuss.
“The outcome of this discussion will be passed to the National Assembly. Now that we are doing constitution amendment, this is the best time for that discussion. So that if there are areas the people are not happy, we will amend the constitution immediately”
He also applauded the South East Governors for synergising to fight insecurity.
