Insecurity: Chief Of Army Staff, Farouk Yahaya Storms Enugu (Photos, Video)

Against the backdrop of the escalating security concerns in some parts of the country, particularly the South East zone, Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Major General Farouk Yahaya has paid a familiarisation visit to the zone, ABN TV reports.

The Army chief was received at the headquarters of the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army Enugu by the General Officer Commanding 82 Division Enugu, Gen. Abiodun Lagbaja in his first official visit to the zone.

Recall that Maj.Gen. Farouk Yahaya, former Commanding officer Lafia Dole in the North east was appointed the New Chief of Army Staff following the death of his predecessor, Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru and some senior Army Officers few weeks back in a plane crash in Kaduna.

Our correspondent gathered Chief of Army Staff, COAS will use the opportunity of the visit to speak with the officers and men in the South East region on modalities to combat the ongoing disturbances in the region.
