Taraba State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has declared seven days of fasting and prayers across different denominations and churches in the state.

The spiritual exercise was announced on Monday during a New Year Thanksgiving Service organized by the association in Jalingo, the state capital.

The state chairman of CAN, Rev. Dr Isaiah Magaji Jirapye, said the exercise is aimed at addressing the rising level of insecurity within the state.

Taraba State, in recent times, as observed by DAILY POST, has been grappling with security challenges, including kidnapping and armed banditry.

Calling upon Christians to prioritize love and continuous prayer for one another, the Taraba CAN leadership also sought prayers for the immediate release of persons who are still being held hostage by their abductors.
