Inept Attitude Of Government Fueling Insecurity — Sir Udensi Decries

A renowned Interpol Systems Consultant, Sir Chikwe Udensi has blamed inept attitude of government at various levels for the growing insecurity in the country, ABN TV reports.

While admitting that insecurity is a global phenomenon, Sir Udensi said the show of disregard by states and federal government has exacerbated the trend, adding that it portends grave danger to the economy of the country.

While insisting that the country has relegated security at the background and elevated politicking, he said this is what differentiates Nigeria from other countries of the world, adding that security is a monologue in Nigeria.

In a chat with ABN TV on Thursday, the Abia-born APGA chief said there is a need to equip the security forces for optimum performance.

“We must have to make adequate provision for security infrastructure. By that, I mean the tools required for security. Every profession has its tools.

“If you take the medical profession for instance, no matter how trained or intelligent a cardiologist is, he still requires the stethoscope to feel the heartbeat. Without that, his training and intelligence won’t fetch him anything.

“There are tools required for security. Today, almost all the tools are lacking in Nigeria. Even where some exist, they have gone obsolete. They are the ones used during first and second World Wars” he said.
