Imo Gunmen Abduct Ideato LG chairman, Two Others

Chris Ohizu, the chairman of Ideato North Local Government Area in Imo State, and the local government’s APC chairman were both abducted by gunmen on Friday.

One unnamed person was also taken hostage by the gunmen.

According to Chubuzor Nnamdi, a local, the assailants also set fire to the APC Chairman’s home before robbing him and leaving him with leg wounds.

Nothing was taken from the residence, he claimed, but numerous cars were reduced to ashes.

Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammed Barde, confirmed the occurrence and stated that the command has taken efforts to apprehend the offenders.
