Imo Guber: NNPP Candidate Vows To Compensate Victims Of Insecurity

The governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party for the November 11 governorship election in Imo state, Ben Odunze, has promised that his administration would pay compensation to families of those killed by unknown gunmen should he become the next governor of the state.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, in Owerri, the state capital, on his chances at the poll, Odunze noted that his administration would tackle insecurity, infrastructural decay, poverty and unemployment bedevilling the state.

Odunze added that as the youngest governorship candidate in the election, he had the support of the young electorate in the state to sweep the polls.

He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agents to ensure that the electoral processes were transparent.

He also stated that his party was worried by how insecurity in the Orlu and Okigwe zones had affected the economies of the areas, adding that he had solutions to the problem of insecurity affecting the state.

“I am 43 years old. I have the mandate of the young electorate who make the over 70 per cent of the voting populace. NNPP will win and I will tackle insecurity headlong.

“I will pay compensation to the families of those killed by unknown gunmen. I will revive our real estate sector, and tackle poverty, infrastructural decay and unemployment.

“I want to urge INEC and the security agents to ensure that the election is free and fair. Our state has suffered enough. NNPP is the fourth largest party in Nigeria now. We have what it takes to rescue Imo. I am prepared and ready to lead”, Odunze said.
