I’m Happy To Have “Rt. Hon.” Title In My Name, Says Newly Elected Abia Deputy Speaker

Rt Hon Mandela Obasi, who was elected Deputy Speaker on Tuesday has expressed gratitude to the Abia State Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, the Speaker Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji and members of the Abia State House of Assembly for electing him into office.

Obasi said his election as a principal officer of the Assembly is the will of God, expressing happiness that the title “Rt Hon” has been added to his name.

In a personal explanation during plenary on Wednesday 3rd May 2023 at the Abia State House of Assembly chambers, Obasi who represents Ohafia North State Constituency at the House said he will give his best towards the development of Abia.

Obasi was elected the new Deputy Speaker following the suspension and removal of the Former Deputy Speaker, Ifeanyi Uchendu.

ABN TV reports that the Speaker Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji congratulated the new Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Mandela Obasi and advised him not to betray his boss and his colleagues like his predecessor did.
