Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State, Hon. Amobi Ogah has rejected his appointment as the Chairman of Campaign Council for the Chairmanship candidate of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in the forthcoming local government election in Abia.
He was appointed by Chinedu Ekeke, the candidate for Isuikwuato local, and his running mate, Ifeanyi Njoko. Both are members of the Zenith Labour Party.
Amobi Ogah, a member of the Labour Party, rejected the appointment, saying it would amount to anti-party activity and would not be part of it.
In a release on Wednesday made available to ABN TV, he appreciated the Zenith Labour Party candidate’s confidence in him but said he would not function in that capacity.
Reeling out his reasons, he said, “I am holding the mandate of the people of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency under Labour Party.
“The State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr Alex Chioma Otti OFR has not officially directed support for Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
“Accept my withdrawal in good faith and best of luck to your aspirations.”
