I'll Make Enyimba Economic City A Reality, Says Abia Guber Aspirant Lucky Igbokwe

A frontline governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Abia State, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, has promised to realise the multi-billion Naira Enyimba Economic City project initiated by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu if voted into power in 2023.

The governorship faithful who made the promise in an interview with newsmen described the project as very laudable and capable of transforming Abia into the econiomic and industrial hub in Africa if realised.

Mayor Igbokwe said he had already done a feasibility study of what should be done to actualise the project, promising that it is one of the projects his administration will vigorously pursue and deliver if given the opportunity to superintendent over the affairs of Abia State.

The Entertainment guru and “Youth O’clock” exponent popularly known as Don Lulu will formally declare for the governorship tomorrow, Tuesday, May 10 at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP secretariat in Umuahia.

He said that Enyimba Economic City project should be given priority under his watch.

His words: “This is one project that Abia needs seriously. Actualization of the project is a must. What is needed is facility and I will provide it.

“I have told you it’s not everybody that knows what to do with the seal. Government is security- security to bonds. I won’t be limited.”

Asked what to do to clear the bottlenecks stalling the project, he said: “Those things are captured in my manifesto, my seven-key agenda for the state.”

On his vision for Aba, the Entertainment guru popularly known as Don Lulu, said the would re-invent Aba and make it a major Investment haven in Africa.

He promised to relocate some of the over-congested markets in the Enyimba city and provide durable access roads “to make things easy for traders and their customers”.

“Aba will generate the fund that we will use in taking care of the state. So, we will give Aba special attention.

“We will make Aba the envy of West Africa. We will need to relocate some of the markets to modernize the city.

“You don’t just tax then for nothing. We will build good road in Aba, provide critical infrastructure in the city.

“I will revive the Enyimba hotel in Aba and build one more 5-star hotel in Aba because of investors we will partner with a lot of foreigners on PPP.”
