Ebonyi State governor-elect, Francis Nwifuru, on Thursday, vowed to use the people’s taxes to develop the state rather than ruling the state for the interest of one or two persons.
Nwifuru, the Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, made this known while addressing stakeholders and teeming supporters of Labour Party, including its (LP) guber candidate, Edward Nkwagu who paid him (Nwifuru) a courtesy visit at the Speaker’s lodge located along Ezza road, Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi state.
The governor-elect, Nwifuru said that he will not be governor for the interest of a few persons but governor for all.
He vowed to run an all-inclusive government and accommodate members of the opposition, especially stakeholders of the Labour Party, who before the March 18th, 2023 election, adopted him (Nwifuru) as their preferred candidate.
According to him: “It is a must that I will accommodate you people (Labour Party, LP members) in my government because you worked for it. I am not going to be a Governor of one or two persons.
“I’ll be Governor for all because the people’s taxes that I’ll manage are for everyone. I know that managing failure is easier than managing success, but I’ll make you proud.”
He also applauded the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Alliance, AA, Mr. Chukwuma Nwandugo who discontinued his ambition to support him (Nwifuru), and weakened opponents psychologically, as well as paved the way for his victory at the polls.
Earlier in a remark, the ex-Labour Party, LP, Guber candidate, Edward Nkwagu, said the victory of Nwifuru is a well-deserved one, stressing that the victory will be a uniting factor for all Ebonyians.
