Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu will on Tuesday 22nd December 2020, inaugurate the local government chairmen and deputies elected in the state on Friday, December 18, 2020.

Recall that the state had on Friday, December 18, 2020 held local government election in which the ruling PDP won all the chairmanship and Councillorship seats, leaving the main opposition party, the APC with nothing.

The APC in Abia had however through its chairman, Chief Nwankpa said it will not recognise any government produced by the December 18, 2020 local government election, citing massive rigging, inadequate electoral materials and partisanship by the electoral umpire, the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC).

The party in a chat with newsmen on Saturday had vowed to seek redress in court over what it called electoral fraud.
