Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has concluded plans to embark on a journey next week to meet foreign partners to among other things formalize relevant agreements on the foreign scholarship scheme which is expected to benefit more than 2,000 qualified Abia youths who will train in various skill areas starting from September 2021, the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu says in a statement.
The Governor is expected to leave the country on Monday, 28th June, 2021, and return to the state on or before the 8th of July, 2021.
This is in furtherance of his industrialization and educational development agenda in the state.

While on the foreign investment drive, the governor is also expected to meet with key foreign investors in the garment and shoe industry in the state as well as engage with investors who previously indicated an interest in the Enyimba Economic City Project which was temporarily stalled by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and its associated restrictions on international travels, and other global economic challenges, the state government added.
