Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has said the existing curfew in Aba and Umuahia municipalities commences at 8pm and ends at 6am while that of Ohafia, Bende, Umunneochi and Arochukwu Local Government Areas is from 6pm to 6am for strategic reasons.
The Governor while stating that he is daily working hard to improve the security architecture of the state in order to serve our people better insists that he takes his duty of protecting lives and property very seriously and will continue to ensure that Abia retains her position as one of the safest and most peaceful states in Nigeria.
Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu in a statement says the State Commisisoner of Police, CP Janet Agbede has personally re-emphasized the curfew periods to her men in the field who are enforcing it.

He also stated that Commander of 14th Brigade, Ohafia has directed his men appropriately.
