Governor Okezie Ikpeazu
Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has announced a fresh ban on the operations of tricycle riders in the state in view of the escalating crimes being recorded.
This is contained in a statement on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Chris Ezem.
By this ban, KEKE operation in the State are to be restricted within the hours of 7pm to 6am daily.
The statement reads, “Following incessant report on rising wave of crime perpetrated by some unpatriotic tricycle ( KEKE) operators in the State.
“The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D has approved the immediate ban on KEKE operation in the State from 7pm to 6am daily till further notice.
“Security Agencies in the State are to arrest, detain and prosecute defaulters.”
