The Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has donated six unbranded Sienna patrol vehicles to the state police command for effective service delivery, ABN TV reports.
The governor on Thursday handed over the vehicles to the Commissioner of Police Abia State Command, CP Janet Agbede at Government House Umuahia.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief ACB Agbazuere, while presenting the vehicles on behalf of the Governor said the gesture was borne out of the strong desire of the Executive Governor to ensure that Abia is safe, peaceful, and crime-free before, during, and after the Yuletide.
He stated that the vehicles are unbranded for covert crime-fighting, promising that the state government will also provide branded pick-up vans for intensive patrols in near future.

Taking delivery of the vehicles, the Commissioner of Police Abia State Command, CP Janet Agbede expressed gratitude Governor for the gesture, assuring that the vehicles will be judiciously used for the purpose they were given.
She also pledged the Command’s readiness to provide adequate security for lives and property at all times.
