Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has directed that relevant government agencies in the state to resume collection of Market daily tolls and levies under the consolidated revenue platform.
The governor had suspended collection of revenue months back owing to the scarcity of naira notes.
In a statement on Sunday by Barr. Chris Ezem, Secretary to the State Government, the governor said resumption of levies payment follows the resolution of the cash crunch by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
He said, “Following the resolution of issues around the Central Bank of Nigeria redesign currency and cash policy, the Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has directed the State Board of Internal Revenue to immediately resume collection of Market daily tolls and levies under the consolidated revenue platform.”
