Ikodiya Uche Salutes Sen. Kalu On Court Victory Against EFCC

A stalwart of APC in Abia State, Princess Ikodiya Uche has congratulated former governor of Abia State, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu over his victory against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Wednesday.

Recall that an Abuja federal high court had stopped the anti-graft agency from retrying Kalu, Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate over corruption-related offences, in giving a nod to relief sought by Kalu.

Sen. Kalu had asked the court to stop EFCC from retrying him, saying he has been tried and justice dispensed on the same case.

Congratulating the federal lawmaker, Ikodiya Uche in a message of felicitation obtained by ABN TV on Wednesday remarked that Sen. Kalu’s victory is a victory for democracy and rule of law, noting that justice has taken it course.

She said it is unjust for a citizen to suffer double jeopardy over one allegation, saying the court presided over by Justice Inyang Ekwo has demonstrated that the law is a protector of the weak from oppression.

Ikodiya, a board member of Nigerian Films and Video Censors Board, NFVCB expressed satisfaction with the decision of the court, maintaining that the Senator will be more focused in serving his people of Abia North in the Senate where he is currently representing the district.
