The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Janet Agbede has said the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu has warned against violent protest in Abia or anywhere in the country.
She dismissed insinuations that the IGP said no protest should take, place maintaining that right to expression is the right of citizens.
Speaking with ABN TV on Sunday, CP Agbede said the police authorities will not fold its arms and allow hoodlums to infiltrate peaceful protests as witnessed in the recent #EndSARS protest.
She called on Abians who wish to embark on a peaceful protest to seek police protection in the exercise of their fundamental human rights to prevent hoodlums from hijacking such protests.

She assured Abians of the readiness of the Command under her watch to protect them before, during, and after the yuletide, urging them to make information that will help the police in fighting crime available.
