The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has commiserated with the Kano State Command, families and friends of five policemen who lost their lives in a motor accident on Tuesday.
The officers died at Karfi village in the Kura Local Government Area of Kano State while returning to Kano after the Edo State election duties.
In a statement on Wednesday, Force spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi, the IGP saluted the sacrifice of the police officers and prayed for the repose of their souls.
Also, Egbetokum commended Force personnel and other security agencies for what he called exceptional professional conduct during the recently concluded Edo State governorship elections.
He said the peaceful conduct of the governorship election serves as a testament to the dedication and hard work of the security forces.
