IGP Compensates Families Of Deceased Police Officers In Abia With N25m (PHOTOS)

Inspector General of Police, IGP, Akali Baba has presented cheques worth twenty five million, three hundred and twelve thousand, eight hundred and ninety one Naira, forty three kobo (N25, 312,891.43) to families of seven police officers who died in the line of duty in Abia state.

The cheques were presented to their next of kins as compensation.

The IGP through the Commissioner of Police in Abia state, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala also compensated officers who sustained injuries during the recent bullion van attack in the State.

They were presented with a cheque of the sum of One hundred thousand Naira each to enable them offset their medical bills.

The Commissioner of Police who was represented by the commissioner Administration, DCP Chukwuma Ihebom commiserated with the families of the deceased officers and encouraged them to make judicious use of the token in ensuring that they better their lives.

He further said the Nigerian Police Force takes seriously the issue of compensation to families of deceased officers and as well as assisting in offsetting medical bills of officers injured in their line of duty.

The beneficiaries thanked the Inspector General of Police and the Nigeria police force for the kind gesture and promised to make judicious use of the token they have received.
