The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has officially unveil the NPF Insurance Co. Ltd., responsible for the welfare of police personnel.
Recognizing the indispensable role of police officers in maintaining national security, the IG added that NPF Insurance Co. Ltd aims to provide robust financial protection and support for officers.
According to Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Friday, the initiative is a testament to the NPF’s unwavering resolve to provide comprehensive support to its personnel while fostering public trust and cooperation in building a safer and more secure nation.
The statement read, “This initiative underscores the Force’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of its personnel, who face daily risks in their duty to protect citizens and uphold law and order.
“Beyond serving the needs of police officers, NPF Insurance Co. Ltd will also cater to the insurance requirements of the general public. By offering a range of tailored insurance products, the company seeks to bolster national security and provide reliable financial solutions to Nigerians across the nation.”
The unveiling event will be attended by prominent dignitaries, including the Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, as the special guest of honour.
Other attendees include executive Governors from the 36 states, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, senators, members of the House of Representatives, and the chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu, retd., among others.
Under the leadership of IG Egbetokun, the Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its dedication to the welfare of its officers and the enhancement of the country’s security infrastructure.
NPF Insurance Co. Ltd exemplifies the Force’s proactive measures in ensuring the safety and prosperity of its personnel and the public as critical stakeholders in national security.
“The NPF Insurance Co. Ltd is poised to become a pivotal entity in Nigeria’s insurance landscape, offering innovative solutions and exceptional services to meet the evolving needs of all Nigerians,” said IGP Egbetokun.
He commended the Board of Directors, led by its Chairman, AIG Olufemi Adenaike, retd., for their efforts in actualizing this vision.
Egbetokun emphasized that this initiative bridges the gap between police welfare and public insurance services, positioning the Nigeria Police Force as a trailblazer in aligning security services with citizens’ financial security.
He announced that the inauguration ceremony is set to take place on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, at 11:00 a.m.
