Abia State House of Assembly aspirant, Chief Collins Ifeanyi Eke has defeated the member representing Isuikwuato state constituency, Chief Emeka Okoroafor to emerge APC candidate for the constituency ahead of 2023 general elections.
He polled a total of 13,331 to floor Chief Okoroafor who garnered 242 votes at the direct primary election of the party which took place in Umuahia on Thursday.
Speaking with ABN TV on Friday, Eke expressed gratitude to the people of Isuikwuato state constituency for the confidence reposed in him, assuring that he would not take their support for granted.
While stating that the direct mode of primary conducted by the state chapter of APC is in adherence to the directive of national leadership of the party, he expressed gratitude to state leadership of the party for ensuring a level playing field for all aspirants to test their popularity.
The Assembly member hopeful vowed to prioritize youth empowerment, infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, others if elected.
He therefore appealed to the people of Isuikwuato to queue behind him to ensure victory at the polls next year, assuring that the constituency will be greater for it.
