Members representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State, Hon. Amobi Ogah has called on the government of Nigeria to resolve the Igbo people’s long-standing complaints.
He claimed that the Igbo people would feel much better about their situation if the southeast region was granted an extra state and Nnamdi Kanu, a famous pro-Biafra leader, was released. Ogah drew a comparison between the circumstance and a family in which one child experiences neglect, resulting in misery and turmoil.
He stressed that the southeast area supports Nigeria’s unity but wants to be heard and seen on an equal footing. The independence movement in Biafra, according to Ogah, would lose steam if these issues were resolved, and the area would keep making constructive contributions to Nigeria’s progress and prosperity.
His remarks emphasise how important it is for the country’s political system to be more balanced and welcoming to everybody. “My brother, allow me to tell you, the simple best truth of the day,” he said. No one would bring up Biafra again if the Nigerian government releases Nnamdi Kanu on behalf of the Igbo people and grants us one state to equalise with other regions, my brother.
See, I told you previously that when you have two or three children and one of them feels neglected compared to the other, it’s only logical that the other child would be unhappy. Something that’s really bothering us is the fact that we don’t feel appreciated the way other people do. Here we have an area that has Nigeria in mind.
