Customers are being strongly warned by the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company to abstain from energy theft, as it puts everyone’s service quality at risk.

The Managing Director, Francis Agoha, emphasised the company’s commitment to ensuring reliable power supply throughout the holiday season while prioritizing customer safety.

This is contained in a statement released on Tuesday.

To ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festive period, IBEDC has implemented measures to enhance network stability and address faults promptly.

“We understand the increased demand for electricity during the holidays, and we are fully prepared to respond quickly to any service disruption.”

The company also highlighted the importance of customer safety, urging consumers to avoid tampering with electrical installations, which can pose serious risks, including injury or even fatalities.

“We encourage all our customers to prioritize their safety by avoiding hazardous practices such as cooking under power lines,” Agoha added.

IBEDC has also encouraged customers to utilise its secure online platforms, including the IBEDCPAY app, Quickteller, and Payarena. “These platforms offer a safe and efficient way to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during the holidays,” Agoha explained.

IBEDC offices will remain open during the holiday season to address customer inquiries, process bill payments, and provide vending services.

“The company expressed its gratitude to customers for their continued support throughout the year and wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year filled with peace, joy, and progress,” Agoha said.
