Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa has been elected the candidate of Labour Party for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia State.
Osonwa who recently dumped the All Progressives Congress was on Wednesday declared winner in Bende by the returning officer, Okorie Agwu when he polled 152 votes to return unopposed.
In his acceptance speech, Osonwa while expressing gratitude to the delegates for the mandate given to him urged them to come out in large numbers and support the party.
He said there is a need for synergy to ensure the victory of the party at the polls.
He urged the party members not to relent in their good works, stating that he is in the race to make a change in the constituency.
Speaking earlier the Deputy State Chairman Hon Ijioma Okey encouraged delegates to get their PVC’s ready to exercise their franchise on the election day.
He called on them not to sell their votes but vote with conscience for the right candidate that has the interest of the people at heart.
