‘I Rely On Rent For Feeding After Eight Years As President’ – Buhari

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that after serving two terms as Nigeria’s leader, he depends on income generated from renting out one of his houses in Kaduna State to meet his feeding needs.

Buhari made this revelation during the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting held at the Presidential Banquet Hall in Katsina State. He emphasized that he did not enrich himself through corrupt practices while in office.

Reflecting on the complexities of governance, Buhari noted that many Nigerians fail to grasp the administrative challenges involved in leading the country, often attributing blame to leaders without understanding the intricacies of managing a diverse nation like Nigeria.

“Nigeria is a difficult country to govern, but most Nigerians are unaware of this. You will only understand the complexities of leadership and the country itself when you find yourself in an administrative position,” Buhari explained.

The former president also commented on his improved health and appearance since leaving office. “I look much better and healthier now than when I was president. Anyone who sees me now acknowledges that I look better than before,” he said.

On his personal possessions, Buhari revealed, “After my eight years as a civilian president, I have only three houses—one in Daura and two in Kaduna. I have rented out one of them to generate income for feeding.”
