I Am Not Gay — Desmond Elliot

Desmond Elliot, a seasoned politician and actor, has denied being gay, calling the accusation a flimsy publicity gimmick.

In a recent interview with TVC, Elliot addressed the rumors, stating that he won’t give credence to unfounded accusations.

He emphasized his focus on positively impacting lives rather than engaging with frivolous speculation.

He noted that individuals should be free to make their own choices, provided they remain within the law and respect the rights of others.

He said: “Why would I respond to allegations made against me when it does not affect my life either way?

“Secondly, it is an opinion that has been conceived, and I do not think it is necessary for me to confirm whether it is true or not; as long as I’m affecting people positively, I’m good.

“If you feel you identify as something, as long as it is within the law, that is your choice. People do not have to accept it, but do what you wish.”

“So let me say right here, I am straight. You could not find anyone straighter than me.

“If some people want to enjoy themselves through publicity, that is up to them, but I do not care. Do what you wish and enjoy yourself, but do it within the law and with consideration for your neighbours.”

The controversy surrounding Elliot’s sexuality stems from a blog post that listed several high-profile Nigerian celebrities as gay.
