The internet was flooded with reports of Kambilichukwu’s death on Thursday morning.
He was alleged to have had a seizure while playing football with his schoolmates.
Kambilichukwu was transported to Lagos’ Mother and Child Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The actor has yet to issue an official comment regarding his son’s death.
But, when reached by a very close family associate, the source confirmed that the story is accurate.
“He told me about what happened. He wrote to me, he said my first son is gone, slumped while playing football in school. Got to the hospital, and he was gone. My heart is shattered,” the source said.
Yul celebrated his 16th birthday just two months before Kambilichukwu died.
“I wish my first son, Kambilichukwu Leo Yul-Edochie, a very happy 16th birthday.” May God always guide and protect you. With many more years to go. “Daddy adores you,” posted the star on Instagram.
Yul and May married in 2004 after a six-year relationship.
Following Kambilichukwu’s death, the couple now has three children: Dani, Karl, and Victory.
Yul revealed Judy Austin as his second wife with a picture of their child in April 2022.
